It's actually easier to do the background ruins than the foreground figures and dead bodies... since it's always harder for me to think of it's composition without killing the goal and distract where the eye should be....

That sounds about right. Background are so fun to draw for me too, contrary to popular believe though some people said I spent too much effort on my backgrounds and supporting cast. I beg to differ, after loooking at the way you do yours...
