I was beyond excited and happy to hear ( a few days ago ) from Geoff Johns that Green Lantern issue#39 was the highest selling single issue GL since issue 25... so I am guessing in the last on and a half to two years... how CRAZY is THAT?!?!?! O___O

And I cannot thank the whole team enough, especially Jonathan Glapion to stick through all kinds of insanity with deadlines ( and finicky penciller )... for me, no inker is better than him right now!

Other news from me... sorry I am really bad with coming up with a long essay of what I want to update... so I will write it down like a grocery list instead... XD

--- Spending waaay too much time on watercolor/acrylics and dangerously getting urges to buy oil, easels and more brushes.. ><
--- Took my fiancee's digi cam since she has not used it in 7+ months.. maybe I'll start taking pictures of references... hmmm... or make short videos... I'd like to eventually make the tutorial I promised someone here in DA XD
--- Preparing for San Diego Comicon.. too many things about it to worry about.. right now I need to take care of my hotel reservations since instead of Wednesday to Monday... they put us down from Tuesday to Sunday.. need to have that changed ... Already have one of my new prints ready!!! So excited!
--- Crazy crazy things happening with Green Lantern... man I wish I will have more opportunities to work with Geoff in the future! I LOVE LOVE LOVE his scripts/storytelling!!!! everytime I get the script I turn into a fanboy reading it in front of my computer... wrapping up issue 41 soon... SO SAD to think 42 will be my last GL issue... at least for now T___T
---Been learning a lot of stuff again from Whilce Portacio.. Whilce lives less than 5 minutes away from me... seriously thinking about maybe organizing some kind of artist meet locally XD But alas.. Whilce and myself will probably be the last to commit to any kind of set schedule -___-

---Already starting to talk and plan on my next project, saw the plot already... been chatting with the editor and hopefully going to sit down with the writer ( big hero of mine ) sometime soon to chat about planning the visuals of the book! The plot alone is already very VERY dense!!! This is going to be so much fun and challenging!

Oh boy..... tons of stuff to update...

Going to do quick ones... better than nothing, yes? XD

---Just wrapped up my first Green Lantern issue, should be out late March - early April... and if anyone talk smack about Dan Didio of DC or my writer Geoff Johns about this being pushed back one a few weeks... I am going to fold them into origanmi... I have heard enough negative stuff about that on many message boards and places... this one is one me! leave them alone... No excuse on it, what me and Jonathan Glapion doing in here is probably the work of our careers... and it takes forever to go back and forth trying to get every page good... and from now then our schedules should be good since we pretty much got what our goal is on the look of the style... ( fingers crossed* )and hoping that colors and print would do justice on the amount of line works we put on each page....

---Been back onto painting.. not digi art or photoshop painting.. but real.. watercolor/acrylic/gouache stuff... I sucked at it big time.. but.. it relaxes me.... mmmmmmm been bugging Whilce Portacio and Brian Haberlin about many different mediums I can try on painting... I hope they don't mind.....

---Heard about a great Filipino artist passing away yesterday... Francis Magalona... saddens me much, as I grew up with him influencing many things around me.. my generation at least... sigh.... God bless him... rest in peace.....

---I need to really, REALLY stick to an art-exercise this time... I'll bring Sports Illustrated swimsuit issue and one of those muscle mags next time I go to the coffee shop to do layouts...

---Speaking of coffee shops.. I miss working in the environment for 8 hours straight... I remember not too long ago I would work ( drawing my pages ) in a local mom and pop coffee shop to a point where I almost opens and closes with them.....
